THE PLAYERS Championship Campaign Begins Airing Nationally

Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA – Just as it's been announced that THE PLAYERS Championship will move to May in 2007, a move sure to elevate the tournament's prestige and reputation, a series of commercials promoting the March 2006 event are now hitting the national airwaves.

The commercials feature several noted TOUR superstars, including Tiger Woods and Adam Scott, revealing some of their favorite moment's from the tournament's storied past.

Tiger Woods, who won the crown in 2001, hails 2003 Champion Davis Love III's final day performance as one of the greatest rounds in the history of golf, while Adam Scott, one of the TOUR's rising stars, shares the thrill of watching his hero and fellow countryman Greg Norman scorch the course with a record-setting win in 1994. Scott, then in his early teens, would go on to win the same crown on the same course a decade later.

Each commercial ends by asking viewers where they'll be "when the next great moment comes."

"The concept was very simple," said agency creative director Mike Guiry. "Players, fans, and the media are the people who keep elevating the popularity and prestige of THE PLAYERS – so let's let them tell their story, in their words."

The series, produced by PGA TOUR Productions, also features recollections by last year's champ Fred Funk, fans discussing the experience and remembering an amazing putt by Tiger Woods in his title year, plus a spot with NBC Sports' Jimmy Roberts recalling Craig Perks' wild and amazing finish in 2002.

The spots are scheduled to air during network and cable broadcasts through the start of the tournament, which takes place in Sawgrass this March.
