Shepherd Associate Creative Director Shares His Insights with CA
Damon Williams Featured on CA Web site
Atlanta, Ga. and Jacksonville, Fla. (February 20, 2008) – Communication Arts (CA), the premiere professional journal for creative professionals, highlighted The Robin Shepherd Group's associate creative director Damon Williams in the Insights section of its Web site this month.
Insights, dubbed as a weekly dialogue with a visual communications professional filled with thought-provoking ideas about creativity, work and life, talks to Williams about his industry experience, where he got his start and how he overcomes creative block. It also touches subjects such as what product he'd like to create an ad for — Britney Spears' mother's parenting book or the new PlayStation3, his advice for someone new to the profession — don't be a troublemaker or a know-it-all and his fantasy job other than working at TRSG — professional surfer, among other topics. "I've been reading CA ever since I decided this is what I wanted to do with my life-it's a great publication," said Williams. "The Insights section is interesting because it gives you a chance to see different people's takes on the industry and see the profession from their point of view. After being a longtime reader I was happy to get to share my point of view."
Williams' work has been featured multiple times in CA's Advertising Annual and was on the cover in 1995. Throughout his CAreer, he has won a number of ADDYs and has received awards from London International, Art Directors Club Annual, Effie, Hatch and Show South.
Williams holds a B.A. in art direction from The Portfolio Center in Atlanta. Prior to joining The Robin Shepherd Group he gained experience at various agencies including Cole Henderson Drake, Austin Kelley, Fitzgerald, Leonard Monahan and The Zimmerman Agency.
