Arts, Attractions & Events
- We are ardent patrons of the arts at Robin Shepherd Studios. With a fine artist founder and many staffers who are artists in their own right, promoting museums, gardens, galleries, film festivals and theater groups is something that comes naturally to us - and something that we've had great success doing.
- Our skill at marketing these institutions, and convincing the public to invest their hard earned income and ever-eroding family time into them, also extends to area events and attractions. From sports to zoos, we have produced record crowds on a consistent basis year after year.
The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens
Founded in 1961 and lining the banks of the St. Johns River, The Cummer Museum of Arts & Gardens is one of Jacksonville's oldest and most venerated cultural institutions. The Cummer Museum came to us to help refresh their brand, which they felt was losing a bit of its relevance beyond its core group of supporters. The museum had added a number of new events, youth-oriented education programs and contemporary exhibits and was home to one of North Florida's most elaborate gardens - but this didn't seem to be registering with the community. We came in and gave the brand an overhaul, added "and Gardens" to the name to give the destination a greater sense of scope, recreated the website and brought a keener sense of design to their marketing materials. The result? An increase in crowds, funding, and awareness.
Jacksonville Film Festival
Did you know that little ol' Jacksonville, Florida is considered to be the original Hollywood? That's OK, not many people do. But, back before the movie industry started blowing up in LA, movies like "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" and "Tarzan" were filmed here on the First Coast. A few years ago, the city began to reconnect with its cinematic roots and launched an independent film festival. Still growing in size and stature, we've been packing theaters and parties with movie lovers from around the region.
Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens
Facing the threat of a dip in attendance after opening a wildly successful new attraction the year prior to working with us, we stepped in and helped the Zoo introduce an all new brand, prioritize their plethora of annual events, and inject a heavy dose of fun and levity into their weekly advertising. The end result:
23% increase in general membership
40% increase in Spooktacular attendance
13% increase in overall attendance
THE PLAYERS
Many sports fans don't realize that golf's four majors are actually not PGA TOUR events - they're independent golf championships that make up part of the annual schedule that the PGA TOUR's "touring professionals" play. The TOUR's flagship event is actually THE PLAYERS, which is held at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Florida every May. We recommended rebranding the tournament "THE PLAYERS" in order to elevate it from all of the other 'championships' and 'tournaments' that are played week in and week out during the year, and to put a greater emphasis on the drama, intensity and energy that the event generates on both sides of the rope. With our help, the event sold out year after year and even attracted a 30% increase in first time attendees.
